The Low Carb Cruise 2012 – CarbSmart Will Be Reporting Each Day

the Low Carb Cruise 2012The Low Carb Cruise 2012 starts on Sunday, May 6, 2012 and Dana Carpender, Amy Dungan and I will be there. CarbSmart is proud to be one of the sponsors of the week-long cruise which will take off from Galveston, TX and will last 7 days with stops in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel, Mexico before returning back to Galveston, TX.

I am looking forward to the 3 days of some of the most prestigious speakers and leaders in the low carb community. Some of the scheduled speakers include:

  • DR. WILLIAM DAVIS
  • CHRIS MASTERJOHN
  • DR. JEFF VOLEK
  • DR. ANDREAS EENFELDT
  • DR. RON ROSEDALE
  • DR. JACK KRUSE
  • JACKIE EBERSTEIN
  • DR. ERIC WESTMAN
  • FRED HAHN
  • MONIQUE FORSLUND
  • JIMMY MOORE
  • DR. JOHN BRIFFA
  • DENISE MINGER

In fact, Dana, Amy and I will be presenting Low Carb Success Stories with examples of some of the cruisers that were kind enough to share their stories with the group.

Since we are here a couple of days early, a bunch of us got together for dinner at Rudy’s, one of Houston’s favorite BBQ joints. Rudy’s menu will make anyone happy whether they are a low carb dieter or not. My dinner included a half pound of beef brisket and a half regular and half jalapeño sausage:

Quite a delight and no added sugar or wheat.

The low carb cruise is a great time to see old friends or to make new friends. Here I am goofing with Christine Moore, Jimmy Moore’s wife after dinner:

Yes I need a shave, maybe I’ll do it tomorrow…

Tomorrow is a day of rest and a day to get together with more friends as we wait to board the cruise ship on Sunday morning. There’s talk of a great place for a low carb breakfast.

Tomorrow also marks the arrival of Dana Carpender and Amy Dungan. Its been a long day, time for a little rest…

CarbSmart Podcast Episode 23: Refusing Holiday Food and Staying Low-Carb can be tough at first but you can do it to avoid the Food Pushers. The holidays are straight ahead, and with them piles and piles of carby junk, and worse, people nagging you to eat the stuff. Why so many people think that saying things like "But you have to eat it! It's traditional!" and "I worked all afternoon making it just for you" constitutes an expression of holiday goodwill, I have no idea, but sadly this behavior is all too common. You need to think ahead about how to respond to this sort of thing.

Andrew… I am so glad tou’ll be posting about the cruise each day! I know there are people who wish they could have come, but for whatever reasons, they coykdn’t make it. This will help them feel a part of the group even though they aren’t here. Thanks for doing this and thank you for all your support! We love you!
