Low-Carb Tzatziki (Greek Cucumber Yogurt Dip) Recipe – Easy Low Carb Mediterranean Cooking

Tzatziki is a dip or sauce found in the cuisines of Southeast Europe (especially Greece) and the Middle East. It is made of salted strained yogurt mixed with cucumbers, garlic, salt, olive oil, sometimes with vinegar or lemon juice, and herbs such as dill, mint, parsley, and thyme.

Tzatziki is generally served as a cold appetizer or a side dish.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz full fat plain yogurt or full fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 small cucumber – peeled, seeded and diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon tarragon
  • 1/2 teaspoon mint
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh dill
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients well, chill for 30 minutes prior to serving.
