Low-Carb T-Bone with Anchovy Butter and Walnuts</h2>

Do you ever get bored of steak? I don’t, either, but that doesn’t mean a little enhancement now and then will be amiss. If you want to use blended steak seasoning, try Montreal seasoning. It’s a favorite at my house.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 ounces T-bone steak, 1/2” thick
  • Salt and ground black pepper or blended steak seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon bacon grease or coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
  • 1/8 of a batch of Anchovy-Shallot Butter LINK

Instructions

  1. Season your steak with salt and pepper. Put your big, heavy skillet over very high heat. You want it good and hot before you start cooking.
  2. When the skillet is hot, add the bacon grease and slosh it around as it melts. Then throw in the steak. Set the timer for 6 minutes.
  3. When the timer beeps, flip the steak and give it another 4-5 minutes. Transfer to a platter and let it settle for 5 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, chop the walnuts, add to the hot skillet, and stir till they smell toasty. Remove from the skillet so they don’t burn.
  5. Top each serving of steak with a dollop of the anchovy butter and half the walnuts and serve.
