Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons basil, dried
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons celery seed, whole
  • 3 3/4 tablespoons oregano, dried
  • 1 1/4 tablespoons powdered basil, powdered dry
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons black pepper, finely ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons onion flakes, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon rind, grated

Instructions

  1. Place all of the ingredients in a medium bowl.
  2. Toss gently, with a spoon, until well blended.
  3. Store the seasoning mix in an airtight container in a cool, dry, dark place for up to 6 months.

Notes

Spice mixes make great gifts for holidays and house warming parties. Simply pour mixture into a pretty spice jar and handwrite a colorful label to affix to the bottle with the name of the blend and “from the kitchen of …)
