A slow cooker is a thing of beauty. A veritable gift from Heaven. As a member of the lazy cooks association (a group I made up I might add), I love the whole dump-n-go method. And while not all recipes with a slow cooker are that simple, even the more complicated ones are fairly quick and easy to assemble. It’s by far my favorite way to cook. Sadly so many popular slow cooker recipes are dependent on high carb ingredients. Dana Carpender found a way to utilize this amazing kitchen appliance and still keep the recipes low carb and healthy. She lays it all out for us in 200 Low-Carb Slow Cooker Recipes.
Dana’s distaste for bland, mushy food has ensured you won’t suffer through a single soggy tasteless meal using this cookbook. I’d be hard pressed to pick only one favorite from this book – there are just too many! The “I’ve Got A Life” Chicken immediately comes to mind, as does the 3-Minute Slow Cooker Pot Roast. And Dana’s creativity continues to astound me. I would have never thought of making eggs or desserts in a slow cooker. Along with 200 mouth watering recipes, Dana shares important tips about using slow cookers. I learned some things about my favorite kitchen appliance my friends! You will too once you get your hands on this great book.
